Description
A new expert working group on inland water ecosystems in the Post-2020 Global Biodiversity Framework involves representatives from The Nature Conservancy, re:wild, Conservation International, IUCN’s Species Survival Commission and Freshwater Conservation Sub-Committee, Ramsar, Confluvio, UNEP, Synchronicity Earth. Equilibrium Research, Aston University, Fauna and Flora International and Wetlands International. The group has drafted a briefing paper and set of recommendations for consideration at a June meeting of the Convention on Biological Diversity in Nairobi, Kenya. This includes a global baseline estimate of current protection status and will be further developed into an Information Document for use at COP15.
