Daniel joined Aston Law in August 2016. Before that Daniel graduated with a B.A. (Hons) in Criminology and Sociology (Upper Second Class) and an LL.M. in International Business Law (Distinction) from the University of Liverpool in 2011. In 2013, Daniel was awarded the Durham Law School Studentship to conduct Doctoral research in the same field and in January 2017 he was awarded his PhD, with his doctoral thesis entitled ‘The Regulation of Credit Rating Agencies: An Analysis of the Transgressions of the Rating Industry and a measured proposal for reform’.
Daniel’s research is exclusively concerned with the regulation of the credit rating industry, with a wider focus on the financial regulation of financial service providers, and the relationship between the financial sector and its impact upon society. As such, any Doctoral research proposals for supervision concerning financial regulation, broadly defined, are welcome.
Daniel is the module leader for ‘Principles of Corporate Law’ and also contributes to the Legal Skills and System module.
Daniel has also peer-reviewed for the Corporate Governance Journal and welcomes invitations to participate in other roles within the academic community.
