Accepting PhD Students
My research is primarily focused around the biomedical, medical imaging, and neuroscience applications of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning (AI&ML). We work on out of the box approaches to address pain points in healthcare applications. For example, can we use eye-tracking to label large-scale medical images without requiring significant labeling effort from physicians? Can we use generative adversarial networks (GANs) to augment datasets for training deep neural networks? How can we leverage AI&ML and engineering to enhance the quality of healthcare in the resource constrained environments in low and middle income countries? Our research group collaborates closely with physicians to investigate some really interesting questions in healthcare research. Please feel free to reach out if you are interested in collaborating or joining our research group as a PhD or an MSc student.
