My core research examines spatial cognition and behaviour, with a focus on understanding the learning and memory processes involved in navigation, and their neural substrates. Here, I use virtual environments to test navigational ability using novel behavioural procedures, and also paradigms that are reverse-translated from rodent studies. Additionally, I am also interested in understanding the developmental trajectory of navigational abilities, as well as characterising how spatial abilities are attenuated in neurological conditions and developmental disorders. Finally, I have recently become interested in how spatial representations - particularly of boundaries - exert control over how we remember events that happened in the past.
