I am interested in the development of dietary patterns in early childhood, particularly the preschool years. I work across the disciplines of nutrition, epidemiology, and health psychology to assess influences on the establishment of healthy diets. My current research also crosses the discpline of computer science by incorporating the use of complex systems modelling to simulate the multiple influences, and their interactions, on diet development in the Agent-based Modelling of Behaviours In Early NuTrition (AMBIENT) study.

2016 - I co-taught the module 'Controversies in Nutrition' (NUFS-458) to 4th year Nutrition and Food Science undergraduate students, University of Alberta

2018 - present 'Infant Feeding Following Diabetes in Pregnancy (IFFDiP) study. Collaboration between University of Alberta and Alberta Health Services. A mixed methods project incorporating a nested case-control study and qualitative interviews to assess the impact of diabetes management in pregnancy on subsequent infant feeding.

2015 -  present Food texture introduction and childhood diet quality in the Alberta PRegnancy Outcomes and Nutrition (APRON) Study. Collaboration between University of Alberta, University of Calgary and Aston University. Project is assessing infant temperament, timing of food texture introduction and diet quality at age 3 years.
