Biography

After the completion of her Medical degree and specialty training in Internal Medicine, Dr Lascar took an appointment as Clinical Research Fellow at Aston University in 2014 and she worked on type 2 diabetes in young adults. In 2018 she started a career in Medical Education at Aston Medical School working as clinical teaching fellow and achieving formal teaching qualifications up to SFHEA. In 2020 she became Lecturer in Health Sciences and Clinical Practice, taking the lead on the management of the team of Clinical teaching Fellows and becaming module Lead for the Renal and Urinary system Block. In 2023 she was promoted to Senior Lecturer and she is now the year 2 Lead and Deputy Phase 1 Lead at Aston Medical School, in addition to leading on the Renal and Clinical Pharmacology Blocks. She has published 11 journal papers and 13 conference papers in the field of diabetes. She is a memeber of the Midlands Medical Education Committee and the Chair of Aston Medical School Clinical Education Research Group.
