    Biography

I am an engineering educator with experience working across different levels within the UK education system, in addition I am a Chartered Engineer (CEng) with leadership and research expertise.

I am an experienced Teaching Fellow and engineering education researcher working within the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences at Aston University.

Having gained a masters degree in mechanical engineering I started working as an engineering research student and became involved with Outreach.  I soon realised that I loved the challenges and rewards of working in education.  Since then I have worked with many individuals and groups to promote engineering as a freelance STEM communicator and education consultant whilst I studies for my PhD.  I gained my PhD in Engineering Education from Aston University in 2019, after undertaking this as a part-time student.

After graduation, I started working as a Teaching Fellow at Aston University.  In this role I am involved in all aspects of teaching Mechanical Science to Foundation Programme students, as well as being involved with the teaching of Mechanical Engineering undergraduate students using CDIO.

I have also led research projects, focusing on student support and Education for Sustainable Development.

As a Programme Director I am responsible for the delivery and future planning of the Engineering and Applied Science Foundation Programme.
