Robert joined Aston Business School from Trinity Hall, Cambridge, where he undertook research on directors' duties. He holds a first class honours degree in accounting and finance from Brighton University and a master’s degree in commercial law (awarded with commendation) from Bristol University. His research interests are in company law, corporate governance and taxation. His principal publications are within company law. He is also interested in Scots law and the law of the Crown Dependencies.
Robert has taught on a wide variety of courses at Aston, including Employment Law (UG), European Union law (UG), Business Law (UG) and Corporate Governance (PG and UG). In 2019/20, he will be module leader for three modules: Taxation (UG); Fraud, Bribery and Corruption (UG); and Banking and Financial Regulation (PG). Robert also contributes sessions on tax, company law and corporate governance, on other modules in the Law and Business Schools.
