I am a clinical neurophysiologist and cognitive scientist interested in the following topics:
1- Healthy ageing, mobility disorders, and its relationship to cognitive decline
2- Biomarkers of age-related declines for early diagnosis and rehabilitation
3- Surrogate markers of accelerated neurovascular ageing
4- Electrophysiological markers of brain dysfunction
My research focuses on biomarkers identification for diagnosis and targeted rehabilitation of age-related declines. I am especially interested in the contribution of accelerated neurovascular ageing to conditions such as frailty and cognitive frailty.
In my investigations, I study the interlink between brain blood flow/perfusion, endothelial function and inflammation in the origin of early mobility and cognitive declines and the value of the retina as a surrogate marker of brain health. I also investigate how brain networks and their connections are modified when early declines occur.
My expertise comprises imaging techniques (MRI, fMRI, retina imaging), electrophysiology (EEG, EP and ERP) and non-invasive endothelial assessment to answer research questions.
