Abstract

Energy companies are running their businesses in an environment that is relatively uncertain and is associated with complex challenges. The energy industry must be prepared to respond quickly to a continuously changing business environment and provide efficient and sustainable solutions. High performing companies start transforming their businesses to meet the global energy needs and respond to changing demand and trends. The successful delivery of projects requires faultless execution of business processes across a variety of areas and an integrated approach should embrace people and technology. This chapter will explore the role and impact of business process management within the Arctic energy industry. We will focus on strategies that not only boost corporate performance but also provide businesses with solutions that incorporate quality control, customer service, process improvement, supplier relationships and good relations with communities.
