Bragg gratings in multicore optical fibers for sensor applications

Abstract

Bragg gratings written in multicore fiber are particularly suitable for curvature measurement by their response to differential strain. We outline grating writing techniques and applications of such fibers to sensing shape, deformation, vibration, acceleration and transverse load.
