Abstract
This chapter discuss simulations in the context of employability skills for those students undertaking ‘strategic management’ programmes at university. The chapter begins by identifying the ‘strategic management’ student and undertakes a broad discussion of the current debate around employability skills in the university context. The chapter then moves to identify some specific skills aligned to the strategic leader, and identifies how students can be supported in developing these skills through simulation based learning and activity. We finish the chapter by presenting a case study of a strategic management simulation that includes discussion around specific skills development and student perception post-simulation.
