Abstract

The modern power distribution system being continuously integrated with renewable and none renewable Distributed Generations (DGs) to achieve various technical, economic and social benefits. The renewable DGs are sustainable, and pollution free but uncertain and non-dispatchable in nature whereas, other conventional DGs are dispatchable. This research work employed a Micro-grid (MG) system comprising various DG technologies such as wind turbines, photovoltaic arrays, diesel engines and a fuel cell. Here, the objective of dynamic economic dispatch (DED) of MG is not only to minimize the power generation cost but also to stablish coordination between different DGs over many periods considering dynamic grid cost. This work presents various scheduling strategies for comprising both DGs and main grid. A harmony search algorithm employed to solve the DED problem for MG.
