Abstract

The paper investigates how risk-related knowledge, which originates from multiple sources and different groups of highly specialized professionals in healthcare organizations, is communicated in the course of established risk management processes. The paper concludes with a proposal aiming to integrate knowledge about risk management within the organization, as a means of achieving higher levels of proactive and reactive risk management. The findings of the paper are derived from a case study on a NHS (National Health Service) Trust, in the United Kingdom.
